Divjyjot Singh scored a quick-fire half-century before Ankit Choudhary took a four-for to help Chandigarh register a 44-run win against Kaithal in a Pataudi Trophy match here on Monday.
Opting to bat, Divjyjot hammered a 49-ball 75 to propel Chandigarh to 285/7 in 50 overs. Ankit Kumar made a patient 72, while Ankit Choudhary added 51 runs to the Chandigarh total.
Sanjay Dhull was the most effective bowler for Kaithal, picking up 3/37.
In reply, Kaithal boys could only manage 241/9 in the allotted overs even as Ajay Dhull scored a strokeful 113. Manish Kumar Sharma (45) and Sanjay Dhull (35) also made decent contributions to the chase.
Choudhary (4 /38) was the pick of the bowlers for Chandigarh. Rohit Danda took 3/46. — TNS
