Denied entry at club, two youths open fire

Two unidentified miscreants started firing indiscriminately at two bouncers after they were denied entry into Play Ground, a discotheque in Sector 26 here, around 1:25 am on Saturday. Around six bullets hit the gate of the discotheque. No one was reportedly injured in the firing. The attackers fled from the spot while brandishing their guns.

ASI Yashpal, who visited the spot, revealed that two young boys tried to enter the club after it had closed. They were stopped at the main gate by a bouncer, Inderjeet Singh. At first instance, the youths returned and Inderjeet closed the main door. However, they came back later and opened fire at the bouncers before fleeing on a black Splendor motorcycle. The bullets hit the main door of the discotheque.

The police have recovered five empty cartridges from the spot. The CCTV footage of nearby places was being checked, the police said.

Meanwhile, on the complaint of Inderjeet Singh, a case under Section 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC and 25-27-54-59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the two unidentified youths at the Sector 26 police station.
