With the confirmation of 14 more dengue cases, the count has touched the 564-mark today.

Dr Gaurav Aggarwal, Anti-Malaria Officer of the UT Heath Department, said 54 confirmed cases of chikungunya, 15 of malaria and 57 cases of swine flu had been reported so far. As many as six swine flu deaths had also been reported.

Clearing the confusion over the malaria cases, Dr Gaurav maintained that a total of 55 malaria cases were reported with the UT Health Department. Out of this, only 15 cases were from Chandigarh.

He said as many as 11 doctors from the PGI had tested positive for dengue, while three suspected and one confirmed case of dengue had been reported from the GMSH-16. No data had been provided by the GMCH-32 so far.

He said the report of paramedical staff suffering from dengue would be compiled soon. — TNS
