The annual inter-DPS commerce festival, VANIJYA-2019, was held at DPS, Chandigarh, on the school premises. Around 200 students from 19 Delhi Public Schools from across the country were seen competing against each other.

The annual inter-DPS commerce festival, VANIJYA-2019, was held at DPS, Chandigarh, on the school premises. Around 200 students from 19 Delhi Public Schools from across the country were seen competing against each other. Highlights of the festival were onsite events and online events such as Spotlight-‘A Stand-up Comedy’, Freakonomics-‘A new-style intellectual rap’, Mergenture-‘Making the Dream Team’, Bizmania-‘A Business Quiz’ and Juggernaut-‘Economics based Scrabble’. The valedictory and prize distribution ceremony commenced with a mesmerising cultural extravaganza followed by a prize distribution ceremony. DPS Dwarka was awarded the overall best performance award for onsite events. DPS Chandigarh bagged the second position. But, being the host school, it passed on the trophy to DPS Vasant Kunj.

Saint Soldier, Chandigarh

Saint Soldier International School organised annual sports day for Classes VI to VIII. The event began with a march past, followed by an oath-taking ceremony, aerobics display, yoga demonstration, taekwondo demonstration and tug of war. To add to the fun, races such as hurdle race, relay with ball, 100-m, 200-m race and 4X100-m relay. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony.

Aanchal International, Chandigarh

A workshop on self-defense was organised for students of Aanchal International School. Children were told about simple techniques of taekwondo.

Guru Gobind Singh School

The annual athletics meet was organised at Guru Gobind Singh Vidya Mandir School, Ratwara Sahib. Students of Classes I to V participated in the athletics meet. Guests were greeted with a welcome song. Students participated in frog race, sack race and obstacle race. Winners were awarded medals and certificates. Principal Ritu Oberoi and Director Jaswant Singh appreciated students’ efforts and encouraged them students to take up sports enthusiastically.

Manav Mangal, Mohali

Lions Club Chandigarh Central organised a diabetes detection and awareness camp at Manav Mangal Smart School, Mohali. Doctors from Ivy Hospital conducted the diabetes detection camp. Around 300 people got their blood sugar level checked and around 50 of them were diagnosed with high blood sugar levels. Manisha Gupta (MD, Medicine) and Mrigind Singh (MD, Paediatrics) detailed the risk symptoms of diabetes.

Brilliance World, Panchkula

Brilliance World School celebrated its annual day, Udaan – 2019. Students of Class III presented a peppy retro medley of the foot tapping songs from 70s and 80s. A touching tribute to our soldiers and martyrs was the highlight of the evening. The highlight of the evening was bhangra. The chief guest of the evening was Kamalkant, session judge, Ambala.

St Joseph’s, Chandigarh

Primary II Block of St Joseph’s School, Sector 44-D, organised a Hindi poem recitation competition for students of Classes III and IV. Tiny tots of Class III mesmerised the audience. Participants were adjudged on four parameters — content, expressions, pronunciation and presentation. Principal Monica Chawla congratulated and appreciated the students for exhibiting their grit and talent.

Ashmah International, Mohali

Ashmah International School, Sector 70, celebrated its annual day on the campus. Balbir Singh Sidhu, Health and Family Welfare Minister, Punjab, was the chief guest.
