Chandigarh, January 15

A day after the BJP selected Rajesh Kalia as its nominee for the post of Mayor, the Chandigarh Dalit Welfare Association alleged that the party promoted criminal activities in SC categories by fielding a “person with a criminal past”.

In a press conference here today, association leaders Bharat Raj Tisawar and Ramesh Tank stated that instead of selecting a SC category candidate with a clean image, the party chose a wrong person. Tisawar demanded that the BJP leaders should review their decision and field someone with clean image for the post of Mayor. — TNS
