Ambala, October 22

The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has directed the Ambala police to investigate an alleged case of bad touch with an eight-year-old boy and take appropriate action. The boy had alleged that he was touched inappropriately by two boys at a madrasa in Durana village.

Gurdev Singh, officiating chairperson of the CWC, said, “On October 18, the Child Helpline had received a call in context with this case. A team of the CWC and the helpline visited the madrasa and found two minor boys, who were shifted to a shelter home in Ambala Cantonment. During counselling, while the 12-year-old boy denied having any such experience, the 8-year-old boy informed that he was touched inappropriately by two others. Three children of the maulvi also stayed there and the victim has levelled allegations against one of them.”

“Both children were handed over to their parents today. Parents of the eight-year-old boy said their child never told them about the incident.

The maulvi of the madrasa has refuted the allegations. Moreover, the minor has been changing his statement repeatedly. Seeing the sensitivity of the case, we have directed the police to investigate the matter and take appropriate action,” he added.
