Condolence meet in memory of braveheart Major

CHANDIGARH: The UBS fraternity, including faculty, staff and students from other departments of Panjab University gathered at the UBS Auditorium to share grief and show their solidarity to Nitika Kaul, a UBS aluma, and other family members of Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal, who sacrificed his life along with three soldiers fighting the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir on February 18.

The UBS fraternity, including faculty, staff and students from other departments of Panjab University gathered at the UBS Auditorium to share grief and show their solidarity to Nitika Kaul, a UBS aluma, and other family members of Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal, who sacrificed his life along with three soldiers fighting the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir on February 18.

Major Dhoundiyal successfully neutralised and killed Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists after an 18-hour encounter involving Rashtriya Rifles (55RR), CRPF and a Special Operations Unit of the J&K Police.

Professor Deepak Kapur, chairperson, University Business School (UBS) apprised the gathering about bravery and sacrifice of Major Dhoundiyal in honour of the motherland.

A two minute silence was observed in honour of the departed soul.

A condolence message was sent by Prof Deepak Kapur to Nitika Kaul, the bereaved wife of Major Dhoundiyal, on behalf of the entire UBS faculty, staff and students of Panjab University.
