Classical dancers enthral audience

CHANDIGARH: More than 60 accomplished musicians and dancers from New Delhi and Tamil Nadu presented Bharatanatyam and south Indian folk dances during the the annual cultural bonanza, organised by the Chandigarh Tamil Sangam, at Tagore Theatre here today.

More than 60 accomplished musicians and dancers from New Delhi and Tamil Nadu presented Bharatanatyam and south Indian folk dances during the the annual cultural bonanza, organised by the Chandigarh Tamil Sangam, at Tagore Theatre here today.

Besides conventional segments of Bharatanatyam recital such as ‘Alarippu’, ‘Jathiswaram’, ‘Varnam’, Kanika Sudhakar presented a special dance composition with a message of ‘Prevention of cruelty’. Dancers from Tamil Nadu staged folk dances, including the peacock dance, horse dance, bull dance and others, which kept the audience enraptured. — OC
