A 17-year-old Class XII student reportedly hanged herself to death at the school hostel here, the police said today. A suicide note was recovered from the spot but cops have not yet shared its contents.

The victim has been identified as Ruchi Kumari, a hosteller at Chaman Vatika Gurukul School. 

According to information, she was found missing from her room on Wednesday night, following which the school authorities launched a search operation. She was found hanging in the hostel storeroom. She was rushed to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival, the police said.

The school authorities told the police that the victim hailed from Bihar and was a bright student, who used to top in her class. “She had some animosity with her friends a few days ago, due to which she was upset. The school authorities had put her under counselling and also informed her parents, who were to visit her in a day or two,” officials said.
