Class IV boy crushed to death under truck

Zirakpur, March 18

A Class IV student of Government Elementary School at Bakarpur village was crushed to death under the wheels of a truck near the Chhat traffic lights today.

The deceased has been identified as Sumit, a resident of Bakarpur village near Dera Bassi. According to sources, the incident occurred around noon when the victim was returning home from his school on his bicycle. When the victim reached near the Chhat traffic lights, a truck coming from the Zirakpur side reportedly hit him and ran over him. The driver fled from the spot.

The police have registered a case against the truck driver at the Zirakpur police station. — OC
