Three children fell sick after eating biscuits here on Friday. They were rushed to a private clinic at Dera Bassi from where they were further referred to the GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh. The affected children were identified as Priyanshu (6), Lal Bahadur (8) and Vikas (7), all residents of Dera Bassi.

They were discharged after treatment from the hospital. However, the Dera Bassi police have started the investigation.

Investigating officer Dilbagh Singh, posted at the Dera Bassi police station, said Priyanshu ate biscuits and gave the packet to his neighbours Lal Bahudur and Vikas on Friday afternoon. Soon after consuming the biscuits, they started vomiting and complained of abdominal pain.

The invesitgating office said their statements were yet to be recorded as they were not in a condition to speak. The police are trying to find out from where Priyanshu bought the biscuits.
