Chandigarh, June 26

The Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights observed International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking by organising a play ‘Naadan Parindey Ghar Aaja’ here today.

Students of CCI enacted the play at Sukhna Lake. Every year, the United Nations Office of Drug and Crime (UNODC) selects a theme for the day — ‘Listen First’ for this year.

It is an initiative to increase the support for the prevention of drug use and an investment in the well-being of children and youths.

Harjinder Kaur from the commission said they were committed to reduce the drug abuse and illicit trafficking. She said the play was to create awareness about the issue among children.
