Child rights panel discusses govt school issues at Kaimbwala

CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) organised a meeting with representative of the School Management Committee, Child Protection Village Committee and Child Friendly School Committee of Kaimbwala at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Kaimbwala, on Tuesday.

The Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) organised a meeting with representative of the School Management Committee, Child Protection Village Committee and Child Friendly School Committee of Kaimbwala at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Kaimbwala, on Tuesday.

The meeting was held on the topic ‘Steps Towards Child Friendly Villages”. About 150 students participated in the meeting.

The issues discussed on the occasion included opening an adult education centre in Kaimbwala, immediate requirement to fill vacant posts of Punjabi and physical education teacher in the school, sanctioning of the post of History lecturer and upgrade of the computer lab.

The issues of providing extra coaching to students who skip the school for months together by volunteers of Don Bosco Society and checking drug abuse outside the school boundary by the police and panchayat were also discussed.

Harjinder Kaur, chairperson, CCPCR, appreciated the presence of all stakeholders.
