Cheating case registered against seven persons

Acting on the complaint of Suresh Chand of Mubarikpur village, Dera Bassi, the police have registered a case against seven persons under Sections 420, 406 and 120-B of the IPC at the Zirakpur police station.

The case was registered following investigation into a complaint filed by the victim.

As per the FIR, the complainant alleged that the accused had opened a fake company, NH Housing & Infrastructure Development India Pvt Ltd, at Zirakpur.

Suresh alleged that he was asked by one of the agents of the company to invest in a scheme and assured him higher returns on investment after five years. The complainant also alleged that he was also lured that in case if he does not want the money he invested, he can get a plot in UP.

Lured by the offer, the complainant deposited Rs 1,000 for 28 months for investment purpose. Suresh came to know that he has been duped when he found the firm office locked. Following this, he lodged a complaint with the police.
