Chandigarh, August 20

The Chandigarh  Housing Board (CHB) has decided to start  the e-auction of residential  and  commercial  plots, measuring  5 to 10  acres, at Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park  in the first week of September in a phased manner.

Maninder  Singh,  Chairman of the CHB, said initially one residential  and one plot for hospital would be put up for auction. The size  of the hospital plot was 8.17 acres, for which the reserve price, as determined by the collector rate, would be approximately  Rs 308 crore. The residential plot of 4.55 acre will also  be auctioned  for which the reserve price would be around  Rs 163 crore. He said the two plots would be developed by the CHB, for which it might go in for a public-private partnership.

All these projects will come up on 123.79 acres acquired from Parsvnath Developers Ltd at IT Park. The CHB has prepared a detailed plan for the development of the area.

Eight  sites have been identified for private housing projects while the CHB will construct houses on two sites for government employees and judges. The sites identified are between four and seven acres. All housing colonies will be developed with provision for gymnasium, swimming pool, club, community centre and marriage palace. Besides, sites have also been identified for a five-star hotel, a commercial complex, shopping malls and one site for a hospital. An area of around 3.86  acres has been reserved for the club. The commercial sites will also be allotted. The CHB got back the land from Parsvnath Developers last year after the latter failed to start a housing project.
