CH01 BT: 0001 goes for Rs 4.8 lakh

CHANDIGARH:The much sought-after number, 0001, was sold for Rs 4.80 lakh in an e-auction of the CH01 BT series registration numbers, which concluded on Thursday evening. In the last auction, the same number was sold for Rs 6,90,000.

The much sought-after number, 0001, was sold for Rs 4.80 lakh in an e-auction of the CH01 BT series registration numbers, which concluded on Thursday evening. In the last auction, the same number was sold for Rs 6,90,000.

The Registering and the Licensing Authority witnessed poor response from participants as it earned only Rs 37.39 lakh from the auction of 164 numbers this time.

The RLA had earned approximately Rs 62 lakh from the auction of 251 numbers in the CH01 BS series.

This time, 0001 was bought by a resident Ajay Thiara. Interestingly, 0009 fetched the second highest amount of Rs 2,21,000.

The other number which fetched highest prices are 0005 (Rs 1.26 lakh), 0006 (Rs 1.21 lakh), 0004 (Rs 1.05 lakh), 0079 (Rs 72,000), 0015 (60,000) and 0022 (Rs 60,000).

The reserve price of the 0001 was fixed for Rs 50,000, while it was Rs 30,000 for other fancy numbers up to 10. Usually, 0001 used to witness a stiff competition among the claimants till the closing of the auction. However, this time it fetched lesser amount in comparison to last year.

The successful bidders will be required to get their vehicles registered as well as to deposit the balance bid amount within one month from the date of auction.
