CCTV footage of no use, cops clueless

A day after two youths robbed a Honda City car from a woman at gunpoint outside Elante Mall, the police are yet to make any progress.

While various CCTV footages have been obtained, the police have failed to procure a clue that could reveal the identity of the accused. The incident has been captured on camera but due to lack of night vision, the faces of the accused are not clear.

The victim, Nidhi, said she had gone to attend a Teej party with her friend at a hotel in Zirakpur. Since her husband was already at Elante, Nidhi asked her friend to drop her outside the mall. The victim stopped the car near Gate No. 3 and as she got down from the car, a pedestrian came there and pointed a gun at her. Both occupied the car and sped away from the spot.

A case of robbery was registered at the Industrial Area police station.
