Caught riding scooter without helmet, girl tries to tear challan

High drama was witnessed at the Sector 33/45 light point after a girl riding an Activa scooter allegedly misbehaved with traffic cops when she was stopped for helmetless riding. The girl also tried to tear the challan.

The incident took place when the traffic cops stopped the girl for not wearing a helmet. The cops tried to issue a challan to her. However, she started arguing with them and asked them not to issued a challan to her.

In the meantime, two youths also came in support of the girl and started arguing and misbehaving with the two traffic cops present at the spot.

When they tried to issue a challan for helmetless riding, the girl tried to tear the challan. The drama continued for at least 40 minutes following which the cops called their senior, who arrived at the spot and controlled the situation.

The girl was then handed over a challan after which she left the spot.

Motorist breaks wheel clamp, held

A motorist was arrested by the UT police for breaking a wheel clamp put on his car on Monday. Traffic cops had clamped tyres of his car for wrong parking at Sector 34. According to the police, ASI Fakir Chand, posted in the traffic wing, reported that a Chevrolet Sail car was clamped for wrong parking. Cops later returned to the spot and found that the vehicle owner, Gaurav Verma, a resident of Mani Majra, had broken one of the clamps and removed it. The police were informed and a case registered against him at the Sector 34 police station. He was arrested and later released on bail.
