After both parties reached a compromise, a local court disposed of a nine-year-old case pertaining to teacher recruitment scam.

The case had come to light after Kamalpreet, a Kharar resident, claimed that she was asked to pay Rs 4.25 lakh for a teacher’s job.

The accused, Hardev and Jolly, who were let off today. Kamalpreet signed a compromise deed in the court.

The name of the then DPI, Samvartak Singh, had also cropped up in the case. However, he was not chargesheeted by the CBI.

In her complaint to the then ADC, Kamalpreet had alleged that Hardev had offered that he would get her a job of teacher. He had allegedly called her himself and sought Rs 4.25 lakh.

Kamalpreet now told the court that she did not want to pursue the case anymore. — TNS
