Patiala, November 29

Residents of Guru Nanak Nagar had to face a tough time as the Municipal Corporation failed to lift the carcass of a stray cattle till Friday evening.

While the residents of the area claimed they informed officials of the MC regarding the dead animal early in the morning, the latter failed to lift it for hours.

Residents also alleged that men working for the MC demanded money for lifting the carcass. A resident of the area while talking to The Tribune said, “We had informed an official of the MC regarding the animal early morning today. It was stinking badly but the authorities concerned have failed to lift it.”

Later, Sanitary Officer of the MC, Bhagwant Singh, was informed about the matter in the afternoon.

The MC officials later lifted the dead body at about 5 pm.
