Bull attack: Elderly succumbs to injuries

Dera Bassi: A 72-year-old man, who was attacked by a bull, succumbed to injuries at Indus Hospital situated on the Chandigarh-Ambala road near Dera Bassi. Sources said 72-year-old Ved Parkash Sharma, a resident of Dera Bassi, was hit by the bull a week ago while he was walking along the roadside. He sustained injuries on his forehead and near his eye. The victim was rushed to the hospital. Family members would submit a written complaint against the MC authorities for their negligence on their part in curbing the problem of stray animals. OC

Bike-borne miscreants rob youths

Dera Bassi: Three youths had lodged a complaint with the police alleging that they were robbed off their money and mobile phones by some unidentified persons on Friday night. The victims, Suraj, Krishan Nandan and Vikas, all residents of UP and who worked in a factory near Rampur Sanian, Dera Bassi, were on their way home after finishing their night shift. They alleged that while they were returning, five unidentified youths on two motorbikes apprehended them and started beating them. The motorbike assailants then robbed of their money and mobile phones. The police had filed a DDR in this regard and started investigations. OC
