British School boys win rugby opener

CHANDIGARH:Sachin scored 10 goals as The British School, Sector 44, registered a 31-0 win over Banyan Tree School, Sector 48, in the opening match of the State Junior Rugby Championship at the Panjab University grounds here on Tuesday.

Sachin scored 10 goals as The British School, Sector 44, registered a 31-0 win over Banyan Tree School, Sector 48, in the opening match of the State Junior Rugby Championship at the Panjab University grounds here on Tuesday.

PML SD School, Sector 32, scored an identical win against Banyan Tree School (B-team) in the second match of the day. Kirat scored 15 goals for SD School. 

PML SD School (B-team) played a goalless draw against St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44. 

In the girls’ category, Dhanas Club defeated Banyan Tree School 10-0. Pinky scored all the 10 goals for Dhanas Club. The side though lost 0-15 to PML SD School in their second match of the day. Lisha (10 goals) was the top scorer for SD School.
