Lalru: An unidentified body of a man in his mid-40s was found at the rear side of a factory near Kurli village here on Wednesday. According to the police, they got information around noon that a body of a man had been lying near the factory following which the police reached the spot. Police sources said the deceased appeared to be a migrant labourer and was suspected to have died due to heat or starvation. They said they could not find anything from his clothes which could reveal his identification. The body had been kept for identification at the Civil Hospital, Dera Bassi, for 72 hours. Meanwhile, an inquest proceeding had been initiated in this regard, the sources said. OC

Man held for impersonation

Mohali: The state special operation cell of Mohali have arrested a man for allegedly posing as a general secretary of Paramedical Council and for allegedly selling fake degrees to people. Reeast Ali was booked in January this year for the offence. He was produced in a court on Wedneasday and sent to a three-day police remand. TNS

Car stolen from Baltana

Zirakpur: Some unidentified persons stole a car from outside a house in Golden Estate, Baltana, near here. The incident came to light the next morning when Anil Saini  found that his friend’s car was missing from its parking place. The complainant, Anil Saini, told the police that he had 

parked his friend’s car, bearing a Chandigarh registration number, outside his house on the night of June 10. He said when he came out of the house the next morning, he was shocked to see that the car was missing. Going with 

the statement of the complainant, the police have registered a case against unidentified persons and started an investigation in the matter. OC
