Bikers snatch woman’s purse, show revolver to chasers

Two unidentified motorcyclist allegedly snatched a purse from a woman near the Mehs Gate market chowk in the broad daylight on Tuesday afternoon. The woman and her 10-year-old son were going back to their village when the incident took place. 

The woman has been identified as Sarabjit Kaur, a resident of Thuhi village. In her complaint to the police, she said two masked men riding a motorcycle snatched the purse containing mobile, cash, identity proofs, and fled from the site.

As the woman raised alarm, two boys chased the snatchers on their scooter up to a kilometre. Eyewitnesses said the accused were riding on a Pulsar motorcycle which was without number plate, told the eye witnesses.  An eyewitness, Sukhdev Singh, who chased the accused said, the bikers allegedly pointed a revolver towards him.   Kotwali Police Station SHO Sukhraj Singh said they have received a complaint from the woman and were investigating the matter.—TNS
