Bhai Veer Singh Chair at Punjabi University today organised a national seminar celebrating the birth anniversary of the poet, scholar and theologian Bhai Veer Singh as day of Punjabi language. Dr Harmohinder Singh Bedi, Chancellor, University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala, was the special guest on the occasion.

A documentary film on life and writings of Bhai Veer Singh was also presented on the occasion. Dr H Balkar Singh, Director of World Punjabi Centre, gave the keynote speech. He said, “Bhai Vir Singh and his writings should be understood in the present context of academics. Dr Harmohinder Singh Bedi termed Bhai Veer Singh’s writings as an integral part of heritage of Asian countries.

Vice Chancellor BS Ghuman said more research work should be done on Bhai Veer Singh. He announced that the university would translate a number of writings of Bhai Veer Singh.
