Kharar, December 10

A bag full of ‘shaguns’ and cash — around Rs 4 lakh — has been stolen by some unknown person at a wedding function in Jhanjeri village.

The Kharar Sadar police have registered a case on Monday and started the investigation.

A resident of Chandigarh, Kanwaljit Singh, told the police that the wedding ceremony of his daughter was going on at a marriage palace on the Landran-Chunni road. Around 4 pm, he and his family went to the stage and he put a bag full of cash on a table. When he returned, the bag was missing. CCTV footage revealed that a person had stolen the bag and escaped the spot. The families of the bride and the groom could not identify the accused.
