Chandigarh: Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore on Friday flagged off GST awareness seva raths to address issues of traders regarding the new tax regime. These raths have been equipped with the latest technology. Badnore said the GST would be a historic economic reform, checking tax evasion and boosting the economic growth. Ajit Balaji Joshi, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, said the raths would cover 60 destinations all over the city in next 20 days. These would be on move from 10 am to 8 pm. Live question and answer sessions will also be conducted. Queries of traders will be answered on the spot. He said more than 15 workshops had been organised by the Excise and Taxation Department, Chandigarh, to educate dealers about various provisions of the GST. — TNS
