The police have filed a complaint regarding a bid to rob an ATM in Pinjore. A young man, identified as Hemant, a resident of Johri village, attempted to steal money from an ATM, owned by Andhra Bank, Ishar Nagar branch.

The incident took place between 1:30 pm and 3:10 pm on Sunday when the suspect forcefully entered the ATM booth after breaking its door.

The incident came to light when the senior branch manager of Andhra Bank, Saurabh Shahshni, was in the vicinity of the ATM on the same evening. He alerted officials of his branch after seeing broken door of the ATM. Though the ATM machines were found tampered with, no cash was stolen by the suspect from the spot.

On screening the CCTV footage it was found that the suspect tried to tamper with the ATM quite a few times in the afternoon. During investigation the suspect was successfully identified by an employee of the same bank branch as Hemant, a resident of Johri village.

An FIR was lodged on the complaint of senior branch manager of Andhra Bank, Ishar Nagar branch, Pinjore. The Police filed an FIR against the suspect under Sections 380 and 511, IPC.
