Arshveer, Sidharth enter main draw

Chandigarh, October 13 

Arshveer Sharma downed Parth Mehra 6-4 6-2 to qualify for the boys’ U-14 main draw on the opening day of the STA-AITA Talent Series (TS-7) Tennis Championship at the Chandigarh Club, Sector 1, here, on Saturday.

Sidharth edged past Shivam Wadhawan 6-2 6-4, while Kartikeya Saini drubbed Jashandeep Singh 6-2 6-2. Hriday Pandey overcame Yajat Khanna in an intense three-setter. 

Pandey won the opening set 6-4, but Khanna restored the parity with a 7-5 win in the next set. Pandey, however, sealed the decider 7-5 to ensure a place in the main draw.  — TNS
