Two persons were hospitalised after inhaling ammonia gas that leaked from a cylinder at Phase-II, Ram Darbar, this morning.

Fire officials said information about the gas leak was received from plot No. 775 at Ram Darbar following which two fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

Two persons, identified as Sonu and Nirmal, who were holding the cylinder, were hospitalised after they felt uneasiness following the gas leak. The area was cordoned off and the duo was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32. Sonu, one of the victims, said they were unloading the empty cylinder which hit a wall causing the gas leak. “Although the cylinder was empty, it had little gas inside which leaked,” Sonu added.
