The UT Administration is all set to implement the High Court orders for making helmets compulsory for women riding two-wheelers. It is a good step indeed to avoid any serious injury in case of an accident. What about the boys who can be seen triple riding and without wearing helmets? The traffic police regularly posts on its Facebook page informing people to wear helmets and not to use high beam while driving at night in the city limits. But the cops do not physically check such violations which continue with impunity. The traffic police should physically check these violators and punish them accordingly.

Rooms at GMCH in bad shape

Rooms where patients undergo treatment at the Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32, Chandigarh, are in a bad shape. Walls of the rooms need immediate attention. Offices and washrooms do not have dustbins. It’s a shame on part of the authorities concerned who are heading such a prestigious institution where health and sanitation need immediate attention.
