Patiala, December 1

The industry should create movies that deliver important messages to the audience, said famous Punjabi comedian BN Sharma. He was speaking on the sidelines of a plantation drive organised by the North Zone Film and TV Actors’ Association at Punjab film city near Badali Ala Singh village in Fatehgarh Sahib.

The actor who has acted in over 130 films expressed concern that the film industry lacks movies that deliver a message to society.

“At times people after watching a film fail to answer what it was about. That is a sad. I think the stories should be good and deliver quality messages. Good delivery comes from good content of a film, only then it is able to connect with the audience. The actors are always available to act their roles,” he said.

He added, “At times, the films are very good, but producers say they have incurred losses. Therefore, the audience should appreciate and encourage the actors for quality films as comedy is not the only genre to be lauded.”

The actor who will be seen in an upcoming film ‘Rang’ produced by Villagers Film Studio Private Limited of Ammy Virk said, “I try to act the best as per the imagination of the writer. I have also done negative roles earlier. Today, the trend has changed and people like comic roles.”

He said, “The saplings we are planting here will become a matter to remember forever. They will form a family of plants. Our ancestors talked about the importance and reverence toward plants and trees. But we do not find plants, including ‘neem’, ‘talli’, ‘jand’, ‘kekkar’.

Such trees should be planted in place of ‘safeda’ (Populus ciliate).” — TNS
