Two days after the arrest of a trio in Nabha for their involvement in two murder cases, the crime investigating agency, Nabha, has solved another murder, committed by two of the accused. Investigation has revealed that the accused had murdered three persons within 11 months.

Inspector Shaminder Singh, in charge of CIA, Nabha, said during grilling, accused Shubham Kumar Daglus, Ranjit Kumar and Rohit Kumar confessed that they had murdered Karamjit Singh Guggu of Rohta village in July 2017.

Karamjit (20) had been missing since July  17, 2017, and a missing complaint had been lodged with the Bakshiwala police station. “However, there had been no headway in the case. When we grilled Shubham and Ranjit in this case,  they confessed that they, in connivance of Mohammad Rafiq of Haridas Colony, Nabha, took Karamjit on their bike near the canal bridge, Mehas, on the pretext of smoking,” said Shaminder.

“The trio strangled Karamjit with a turban and slit his neck with a sickle. They tied his body with the same turban and threw it into the canal,” said the CIA in-charge.

“The reason behind this murder is that Karamjit used to ask Aman and Ranjit about Roshan Lal, who had been missing since December 2016. The victim suspected that Roshan was murdered by the two accused,” said Shaminder.

The trio had confessed to having murdered two more persons. They have been remanded in police custody for sustained questioning.
