Keeping the festive spirit alive, Dasehra was celebrated at Aanchal International School. A cultural program was organised wherein students performed skits on the life of Lord Rama, sang songs, enchanted hymns and ‘shalokas’ from the epic. An effigy of Ravana was also burnt.

Satluj Public, Panchkula

A special assembly was held at Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula. A skit was conducted by the participating students, conveying the message of victory of good over evil. Students dressed as Lord Rama, Sita and Ravana. A Dasehra quiz was also conducted. Director-Principal Krit Serai said: “Dasehra highlights the importance of preserving our cultural heritage and conveying the social message that goodness prevails in the end.” 

Gian Jyoti, Mohali

Gian Jyoti Global School celebrated Dasehra on its campus in Phase II, Mohali, with fervour and zeal. Ramlila was staged by students on the campus. An effigy of Ravana was burnt to mark the victory of truth over evil. Ranjeet Bedi, Director Principal, Gian Jyoti Global School, said the purpose of the celebration was to make students aware of the message of the festival — the triumph of virtue over evil.

Sri Aurobindo School, Chandigarh

Two senior teachers from Sri Aurobindo School of Integral Education, Chandigarh, — Amita Gaur and Monika Sharma —were conferred with the Rotary Nation Builders Award-2019 for their contribution to nation building as a teacher. Prerna Puri (IAS), Director of Citizen Registration (DCR), Haryana, felicitated the teachers during an award ceremony at Rotary Club in Chandigarh.

St Xavier's, Panchkula

Dasehra was celebrated with fervour and joy at the junior wing of St Xavier's High School, Panchkula. A special morning assembly was conducted to explain the significance of the day. An effigy of Ravana was also burnt. Headmistress Cynthia Shear said such celebrations apprised students of their culture and values. 

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula

Bhavan Vidyalaya has been adjudged the No 1 Best Co-Ed Day School in Haryana. The rankings are released by the Education World Magazine every year. The award ceremony was held at The Leela Ambience, Gurgaon.

St Joseph's, Chandigarh

St Joseph's School, Sector 44-D, organised a special assembly on World Rivers Day. The programme included an inspiring talk on the importance of rivers and a group song highlighting the life-giving role of rivers and measures to be taken to conserve river water.

The Gurukul Global, Chandigarh

The Gurukul Global School, Chandigarh, was all decked up to witness the 3rd edition of GGSMUN. The chief guest for the day was Sanjiv Dutt Sharma, Judge, Railway Claims Tribunal, Chandigarh. As many as 300 delegates are attending the three-day event. A scintillating dance performance by host school students had everyone mesmerised. The conference was declared open by school secretary general Aarav Ohri.

Ryan International, Chandigarh

Ryan International School, Chandigarh, organised a science exhibition for students of Classes Vl to Vlll. The exhibition gave a platform to the students to explore and encourage the scientific and technological talent in them and to promote creative thinking and manipulative skill through self-designed science projects and models under the guidance of the teachers. Innovative models such as electromagnetic train, obstacle avoiding robot, rocket, railway crossing automatic barricade and water-level indicators were displayed.

St Xavier’s, Zirakpur

St Xavier’s International, Zirakpur, enacted the epic Ramayana on the school premises. Children participating in the play represented their roles in an engaging and winsome manner. TNS
