Chandigarh, December 12

The Bhopal-based  Veenapani Sanskrit Samiti, presented   a play, “Solah Sanskar” at the Navrang Theatre, Bal Bhawan, here today.

The play was directed by Manoj Mishra. Weaved in the rich Indian philosophy, it was a  blend of medieval and contemporary theatre forms. Scripted  in Hindi  by Dr Dharmendra Kumar Singhdev  with pervasive influence of  Sanskrit, the  play  offered  an insight into Indian customs and ethics. It called upon the audience to rejuvenate  the Indian art and traditions.

The play depicted the significance of sixteen rituals in the life of human beings from the birth to death. With a view to connect with the audience, the play was presented in the form of a conversation between a guru   (Anupam Garg) and his disciples (Navpreet Moti and Kalpit Tawar).

Folk songs composed in Bundeli, Bhojpuri and Punjabi by Kalpit Tanwar contributed to understanding of the play, leading to a spiritual life.
