At least seven persons came under honeybee attack outside the Paediatric Emergency at the PGI here today.

The incident took place in the afternoon when relatives of patients were sitting under a tree outside the wing.

A woman sustained several stings and was rushed to the Emergency for treatment.

Soon, security personnel at the hospital rushed to the spot and sealed the area.

Dead wood and leaves were set afire to scare the bees.

Despite repeated attempts the beehive could not be removed. The local Municipal Corporation has been asked to remove it.

An MC team will visit the hospital tomorrow.
