587 needy students get free uniform

The Bharat Vikas Parishad, under the aegis of ‘Shaksharta-2019’, organised a function for the distribution of free study material and uniform at Law Auditorium, Sector 37, today.

A total of 587 needy and deserving students from across 58 government schools of the city have been benefitted by the project. The chief guests on the occasion were PU VC Prof Raj Kumar, and Swami Atmnandji, Secretary, Swami RamaKrishna Mission Ashram. They applauded the initiatives of the Parishad. Prof Raj Kumar invited the Parishad to take up a few projects on the campus in collaboration with the PU authorities.

During the occasion, Ashok Goyal apprised the audience of ‘Shaksharta’ and ‘Neev Nirman’ projects that are empowering the students of government schools and colleges.

Later, 89 meritorious and 58 outstanding teachers from schools were also honoured by the Bharat Vikas Parishad.
