5-yr-old boy kidnapped, recovered

A five-year-old boy was kidnapped along with a Duster vehicle from Sector 20 late tonight. He was later recovered. A woman, a resident of Peer Muchhala, along with her five-year-old son, was sitting in her Duster in front of a group housing society in Sector 20. When the woman stepped out of the vehicle to have an ice cream, a youngster came and pointed a pistol at the woman's head and pushed her. Later, the kidnapper took away the vehicle along with the child.

After receiving information, the police put nakas across the city and boundaries touching Zirakpur and Chandigarh. Around midnight, the police recovered the child, who was left in front of Domino’s in Zirakpur. The police were questioning the parents, but did not reveal their identity.

Sources said the police also recovered the Duster from Zirakpur, but till the filing of this report, no official confirmation was received from the police about the recovery of the vehicle.
