Five more cases of swine flu surfaced in the city today. A six-year-old girl from Bapudham Colony was admitted to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research. Another case was reported from Dadu Majra, from where a 26-year-old woman was brought to the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH) in Sector 16.

A 63-year-old resident of Sector 45 was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali. Dr Gaurav Aggarwal, nodal officer of the UT Health Department, said a lab technician working at the PGI had also tested positive for swine flu and was admitted to the PGI. The fifth case was reported from Sector 23.

The woman was admitted to the GMSH.Dr Aggarwal said five more patients had tested positive for the flu and the total number of those suffering from it had reached 34. With new cases pouring in, the Heath Department has already issued an advisory to all schools to keep a check on children and teachers.
