300 students get business tips at conclave

The two-day LPS Business Conclave at Learning Paths School commenced here today.

More than 300 students from various schools of the northern region are participating in the conclave, of which The Tribune is the media sponsor.

Organised in association with Ashoka University, Sonepat, Haryana, the conclave aims at enhancing the creative potential of young business minds and promoting entrepreneurial and business acumen among students.

Vineet Gupta, Founder and Trustee, Ashoka University, said, “This is the first time that the university has conducted a business conclave in India to foster leadership and entrepreneurship among students of tricity. The university is aspiring to become the top university in disciplines of liberal arts and sciences.”

Robin Aggarwal, Director, LPS, said, “We have received an overwhelming response in the first edition of the LPS Conclave. Our aspiration was to create a unique platform for school kids to showcase their capabilities and hone their business and entrepreneurial skills.”

Venkat Matoorey, CEO, JA India, and Senior Director, India Enterprise Network, JA Worldwide, said: “We need to have an education system wherein the students can have maximum practical exposure through industrial visits, summer internships or moot industrial classes in schools.”

The students participated in preliminary rounds of a variety of business events such as business quiz, business plan challenge, business-strategy game, presentation, consumer awareness skit, commercial Ad videos, poster making and work readiness skills.
