CHANDIGARH: Three days after a 26-year-old woman submitted a complaint, alleging rape by the son of a Sub-Inspector (SI), the police are yet to register a case.

Three days after a 26-year-old woman submitted a complaint, alleging rape by the son of a Sub-Inspector (SI), the police are yet to register a case.

Sources said the woman, a resident of Sector 18, had submitted a written complaint to SSP UT Jagdale Nilambari Vijay on October 11 following which the matter was referred to DSP (Central) Ram Gopal.

The complainant alleged that she was sexually exploited on several occasions on the pretext of marriage. The complainant alleged that she was forced to terminate her pregnancy. She stated that the accused threatened to upload her objectionable pictures on social networking sites if she complained against him to the police.

The victim was in relation with the accused for the past three years. Sources said after submitting the complaint, the woman had been summoned twice to record her statement.

Sources said the victim was being pressured by the accused and his family to take the complaint back and strike a compromise. DSP Ram Gopal said the matter was under investigation. — TNS
