Zirakpur, March 19

The Baltana police here on Sunday booked three persons, including two women, on charges of misbehaving and tearing the uniform of a lady constable on duty.

The accused are identified Guddi, Nisha and Mahesh, all residents of Baltana. The police said the accused had gone to the Baltana police station to enquire about the missing complaint of her 19-year-old daughter. This led to an argument between the on-duty lady constable and the family. War of words snowballed into scuffle and Guddi, along with her sister Nisha and brother-in-law Mahesh, misbehaved and tore off the lady constable’s uniform. — OC
