3,872 appear for LLB entrance at PU

As many as 3,872 candidates appeared for the LLB (three year) entrance test at Panjab University (PU) today.

The test was held on the PU campus, Chandigarh, and PU regional centres in Muktsar, Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur.

The Controller of Examination, Prof Parvinder Singh, said 86.14 per cent of 4,495 applicants appeared for the examination.

This year, 23 per cent more students had applied for the course. As many as 3,667 applicants had applied for the entrance test in 2014.

The students competed for 202 seats each in the morning and evening session.

There are 58 seats at the regional centre, Muktsar, 72 seats at the regional centre, Ludhiana.

The admissions to the course will be based on the performance in the entrance test and it will carry 50 per cent weightage.
