2 thieves arrested

CHANDIGARH: The UT police have arrested two thieves and recovered eight two-wheelers, an auto and four mobile phones from their possession.

The UT police have arrested two thieves and recovered eight two-wheelers, an auto and four mobile phones from their possession.

A team led by Inspector Rajdeep Singh, SHO of the Sector 31 police station, nabbed the accused, Prince Kondal, alias Shanty (21), a resident of Phase II, Ram Darbar, and Narender Kumar, alias Manu (28), a resident of Sector 28. They were arrested at a naka laid in Sector 47 while riding a stolen motorcycle.

The police said the accused were active in Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana.

The police have solved three cases of motorcycle theft, one case of auto-rickshaw theft, three cases of mobile theft and a case of mobile snatching registered at the Sector 31 police station. Meanwhile, a case of Activa theft and four cases of motorcycle theft registered in Chandigarh, Zirakpur, Mohali and Panchkula have been solved.

The police said while Narinder had 10 cases registered against him at city police stations, Prince has five cases registered against him. — TNS
