The Lalru police have arrested drug peddlers in two separate cases here last night.

The suspects have been identified as Dimple Kumar and Pawan Sood, residents of Jalandhar and Himachal Pradesh, respectively.

Giving details, the police said a naka was laid near Lelhi intersection on Tuesday night when a suspect, Dimple Kumar, carrying a bag suddenly changed his way. On suspicion, the police party apprehended him and asked him to show his bag. During checking, the police recovered 5,280 spasmo proxyvon capsules from his possession and arrested him on the spot.

The police said during interrogation the suspect revealed that he used to buy the capsules from UP and sell these to hooked up youths.

Similarly, the police arrested another person with 27 grams of heroin near the Dappar toll plaza, Lalru. The suspect used to bring the contraband from Delhi. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against both suspects under relevant sections of the IPC at the Lalru police station. Further probe is on. — OC
