2 booked for raping minor

The Patiala police have registered a case against two men for raping a 15-year-old girl from Devigarh. In the police complaint, the 15-year-old minor stated that she was standing outside her house on June 9, when the two accused, Gurpinder Singh from Bhambua village and Gurjant Singh, from Devigarh took her on a motorcycle.

The girl was allegedly taken to the house of Gurjant Singh where the other accused Gurpinder Singh allegedly raped her. “The victim was later threatened of dire consequences if she revealed anyone about the incident,” said the police.

A case under Sections 363, 366-A, 376, 506 and 120-B of the IPC and Section 4 of the POCSO Act 2012 has been registered at the Jhulka police station.
