2 arrested on charge of minors’ rape

CHANDIGARH: Two cases of rape with minor girls were reported in the city. A Sector 25 resident has been arrested by the UT police for allegedly raping his seven-year-old daughter.

Two cases of rape with minor girls were reported in the city. A Sector 25 resident has been arrested by the UT police for allegedly raping his seven-year-old daughter.  Sources said the girl narrated her ordeal to her mother after which she informed the police. The police recorded the victim’s statement and got her medical examination done.The accused was arrested and a case against him has been registered at the Sector 11 police station. He was produced in the court, which sent him to judicial custody. 

In another case, a 20-year-old Dadu Majra resident has been arrested for allegedly raping a minor on the pretext of marriage. Sources said the accused had been identified as Sahil. The girl, a Class XI student and a resident of Panchkula, alleged that she made friends with the accused, who was a former students of her school. He allegedly raped her on several occasions on the pretext of marriage. The girl’s statement was recorded and a case was registered at the Sector 3 police station. The accused has been sent to judicial custody.
