12 booked for blocking highway, damaging bus

AMBALA: The Ambala police have booked 12 people for blocking the National Highway-65 and damaging a roadways bus near Matheri Sheikhan village on Thursday.

The Ambala police have booked 12 people for blocking the National Highway-65 and damaging a roadways bus near Matheri Sheikhan village on Thursday.

A case has been registered on the complaint of a Sub-Inspector (SI). The SI stated that nearly 125 people had blocked the Ambala-Pehowa road. Despite repeated attempts to persuade them, they denied to lift the blockade.

The suspects have been identified as Sonu, Ankush, Amit, Ajay, Gagandeep, Surjeet, Satpal, Sanjeev, Ajit, Sonu Singh, Bablu, and Jagtar, all residents of Matheri Sheikhan village.

They also smashed the windshield and damaged the wiper of a roadways bus belonging to the Bhiwani depot.

They were enraged over the death of a youth. They were demanding that an underbridge or overbridge must be constructed on the road as accidents were increasing in the area.
