1.54 lakh administered polio drops in Mohali

MOHALI: A total of 1.54 lakh children were administered polio drops in the district against the target of 1.43 lakh during the three-day pulse polio vaccination drive, which concluded here today.

A total of 1.54 lakh children were administered polio drops in the district against the target of 1.43 lakh during the three-day pulse polio vaccination drive, which concluded here today.

“We achieved the set target with ease,” said Civil Surgeon Dr Rita Bhardwaj. She said the health teams had visited around 3.5 lakh houses in the district during the drive. “Besides, our teams also covered all public places, including bus stand, railway station, markets, slums and factories,” Dr Bhardwaj said.

Earlier, as many as 530 regular booths and 26 transit booths were set up across the district.

A total of 1,216 teams were pressed into service, which included ANMs, ASHA workers, aanganwari workers and students from nursing colleges.
