A memorandum of understanding was signed between Panjab University and the Chandigarh Police during an interactive session on ‘Science of Yoga in Stress Management’ at PU here today.
Prof Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, PU, and Sanjay Baniwal (IPS), Director General of Police, Chandigarh, signed an MoU. VP Singh Badnore, UT Administrator, was the chief guest on the occasion.
Dr HR Nagendra, Chancellor, Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana, Bangalore, also graced the occasion. The Chandigarh Police also organised a demonstration on 'Yoga Protocol' at the convocation hall in the university. About 1200 persons, including policemen, new recruits, students of URJA initiative attended the programme. The programme was organised to introduce the joint research on yoga and common yoga protocol for de-addiction.
Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh VP Singh Badnore was the Chief Guest at the function.
Renowned yoga expert Dr. HR Nagendra (Chancellor of SVYASA University, Bangalore) was the keynote speaker on the Science of Yoga in Stress Management.
About 1200 persons including policemen, new recruits, students of "URJA" initiative (drug free mohalla program) of Chandigarh attended the programme.
The programme was organized for introduction to the joint research on Yoga and common yoga protocol for de-addiction. The scientific benefits of Yoga were enlightened at the function and a live demonstration of Yoga protocol by two qualified trainers was given by showing some important steps of Yoga protocol for de-addiction.
The objective of the MoU is to enhance R&D and training activities as well as to strengthen law enforcement and cyber security. Based on the problems related to cyber security and applied forensics, research projects and joint proposals will be submitted to the funding agencies.
The MoU will facilitate the visit of police personnel and staff, faculty, scientists and students to each other's workplace and laboratories.
